Thinner log walls can be fitted with additions insulation. Insulation is usually done on the inside. Because wood fibre is used a insulation material, also insulated log houses “breathe”, keeping indoor air quality and moisture content good. Like logs, wood fibre is a natural material. Log panels on the wall makes it look like a genuine log wall. You can lacquer or tone according to your preferences. If you want a more diverse wall you can always choose the board surface. You can paint, tile or wallpaper it just the way you want. You can even have different wall surfaces, treated with different materials in your favourite colours, in each room. There are two ways of building a warm and lasting log house with excellent air quality. Either a sufficiently thick laminated log as such or a thinner log wall with additional insulation. For example, if you choose 113x180mm laminated logs and 120mm wood fibre insulation, your house will not only have all the good qualities of a log house, but it will have the sturdy looks as well. |
